The Jewish Home at Rockleigh

Russ Berrie believed strongly in the need to provide caring, comfortable and comprehensive facilities for aging and elderly Jews in his community. Over the years, the Russell Berrie Foundation has provided significant support to the Jewish Home at Rockeigh, contributing more than $6.3 million to build a new state-of-the-art 180-resident facility that offers skilled nursing and geriatric care for the elderly in Bergen County.

This Russ Berrie Home for Jewish Living is dedicated to creating a genuine home for its residents and their families. An experienced professional staff provides superb health care and supportive services in an environment filled with warmth, beauty and life. All programs, services and amenities have been designed to meet the social, cultural, religious and recreational needs of the residents, as well as provide exciting opportunities for enrichment of their daily lives. The result is a unique and vibrant quality of life that emphasizes total family and community involvement.

From private dining rooms and personalized laundry service to a beauty salon and well-stocked library, every effort has been made to provide residents with in-room and on-site amenities designed to help them feel at home. Rooms have large windows with views of the magnificent grounds and surroundings. Residents can also enjoy the Green House Roof Gardens, computer lab with individual workstations and Internet access, and Shabbat and Holiday services in an on-site synagogue led by a full-time Rabbi. The facility is situated on a breathtaking park-like 16-acre campus.

The Russ Berrie Home also provides outpatient services such as physical and occupational therapy, and medical, dental, ophthalmologic and podiatric services to enable seniors to remain at home.
